HAPPENINGS ABOUT TOWN

Summer seems to be in "full swing" around here.  Tomorrow evening Cenex has their annual meeting.  I remember years ago when a full dinner was served and the Edinburg Community Band under the direction of Emmett Loe would play before the meeting started.  It was a big event.

Just heard Lois Otto fell yesterday and broke her arm.  I understand it was a "bad" break up near the shoulder area.  She is in Grand Forks now and could possibly be sent on to Fargo.  We are thinking about you Lois.

The hanging flower baskets are on the streetlights on Main Street and the planters are full.  Don Nurenburg is so faithful in watering the flowers.    It is wonderful when Main Street looks so great.

Edinburg is a great place to live!

 Edinburg 2008

The August 2nd event (August the Deuce as it is called in this area) in Mountain will soon be gearing up for another year.  They always seem to have a very successful event.

Edinburg's City Council-front row:  Rosemary Denault, Kathy Nordquist, Vera Brandvold (auditor).  Back row:  Thomas Hall, Chris Vargeson (mayor) and Bob Halldorson.

.

The template is being readied for the 80 foot cross soon to be erected at the site of Odalen Church.  We are very excited about this project.

A new sign was erected before the 125th as Edinburg being the home of Scott Guldseth, North Dakota's Mr Basketball in 1988.

Another beautiful sunrise over Edinburg.
